Belt Buckle Open Circuit Code 9911

Afternoon all
I have the 9911 fault code, which is a seat belt buckle open circuit, and the airbag light is on.
Any thoughts??
I was going to replace the buckle / tensioner unit with a used part, but the code doesn’t detect which side is affected.
Or is it more likely to be a dirty connector or broken wire?

If your lucky it will be dirty and have a bad connection, try spraying electrical cleaner into the buckle then put belt in and out a few times to work it all. Clear the codes then rescan see if thats fixed it. If not get a used one from a breaker on here and put that in, see if that solves it.
PM Umfann on here he breaks Z4's and will surley have some in stock.
There are two circuits in the buckle pretensioner one for the buckle and one for the pretensioner, here is a video on checking the pretensioner

The belt buckle is just a switch inside the buckle, some diagnostic scanners will show live data from the buckle and indicate when the bucke is inserted, thats the way to find out which one is duff.

Just to feedback on this, as I hate an open outcome.

Checked both tensioner resistance’s as per the video above. They pointed to no problems.

So ended up just using contact cleaner on the large under seat connector also the connector directly on the tensioner itself (both seats).

Hooked it back up to the battery, cleared the codes and all is well. Result.

Fingers crossed it stays that way!

Great result, glad you got it sorted and thanks for the update, its great when resultant fixes are reported on. Common issue is dirty or poor underseat connections passenger seat ones seem to be the most regular fails often due to different passengers moving the seat and disturbing the wiring. Ensure the wiring under the seat is securely fastened to the seat base and there is enough slack in the cable that feeds into the floor carpet from the seat base so it has free movement over the adjusting range fore and aft.
