Being provoked by people in poo cars

Happens a lot in Germany. But I don't necessarily think it's just because of the Zed. I think it's DNA. Just about every time a signal turns green. it looks like the start of an F1 race to the first corner of Monza. The only thing that bothers me just a little are those that will cut into the oncoming lanes to keep up! I like the challenge of going fast and staying on my side of the tarmac. This just happened two weeks ago. I was going at a quick but not fast pace (6/10's) on a very twisty road. And a bloody VW polo van pulling a utility trailer was on my tail. He was in the oncoming traffic lane just as much as his own. So I picked up the pace. And this numpty tries even harder and spends a hell of a lot of time driving in the wrong lane to keep pace. And that's the maddening thing. He was just about keeping pace with me by risking a head-on collision just to tell his friends that a Zed couldn't shake him and is therefore a hairdressers car. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

only race i had was with an audi TT and later one with an A3 sportback s-line. both easily won, but no one want's do a little race with me 
Not always poo cars. My particular nemesis seem to be Audi A5 drivers who seem to be on a mission to find a way through my boot. Easily rectified with a slighty heavier foot, rasp of the quad exhaust and ///Molly's space shuttle like torque.
Other duelists include a few chavmobiles usually on the south circular, or a small army of Halfords Spec Pug 106s' during hacks back to Suffolk. Always amuses me and try to look at it as a compliment.

Generally, I seem to get TDI drivers up my chuff on the motorway. I can see them getting annoyed behind me, but it annoys me they don't keep a safe gap!
Generally though if I get someone, and it's dry and safe to do so, I show them all 4 chimneys!!!

be careful with those pug 106's cos if its the ralle version it could well show you up for a while.
i had a play with one in my westy which is unquestionably quicker to 60 than the bmw but this pug was in front of me. granted over 70odd the bm will come into its own but holy s**t that pug was quick.
i find that the bmw doesnt get that much attention. quite often if im in a mood for it no one tries. if it had been my focus they would. when im not in the mood for it then some one will always sit up your chuff or so.
similar experience to the westy really. guys in zafiras and the like who are 28-40 and have a kid who they want to seem cool. think its hard to scream past on the motorway
obviously in the westy the kid is glued to the window esp as the tune is a bit rich and you can get a 1 foot flame out of the exhaust if you do it right :evil:

I never get it at traffic lights. It's always on the motorway or back roads. I think it must be because I'm usually going quite quick anyway so people think I'm trying to race them. They don't realise that I'm not even trying until I floor it :evil:
I never get into what I would call racing really. Just like to stretch the cars legs on clear bits of road if someone is asking me to or take the occasional well known corner or roundabout at a good speed that is well within the cars capability but well above most other cars.

There was a story some years back (about 10 IIRC) about a couple of 'traffic officers' in unmarked cars that would bait/entrap (which I don't think is unlawful in the UK anyway) unsuspecting barryboys/boyracers at traffic lights, etc. to see if they'd race off from them.
If they did they would quickly see flashing lights in their rear view mirrors, and be pulled over.
Don't know if it was true, but an unmarked Golf VR6 did something similar to me when I had my Corrado VR6. I was waiting at the traffic lights, he came up level in the outside lane, and sat there revving the engine (only to about 2000rpm though), and glancing over at me. So I started to do the same, knowing that under my ordinary-looking car was an engine about 60bhp more powerful than his

Oh yes - happens to me quite a lot - white van drivers - large engined estate cars - cheap lowered and 'modified' Corsas and the like particularly when they are behind. Makes me smile...generally read the road ahead and make progress enough to leave them behind or wait for roundabouts and the like where they mostly have difficulty. Must be the grey hair ...... I find it particularly bad when I'm taking time over speed humps - they seem to hate that - which means I take even more particular care.... all this within speed limits - stay relaxed and just let them fly past once you hit the limit and think of the points ahead. Sadly I find you do have to keep this aspect of driving in mind when on the road in the Zed. 
An outright traffic light race challenge? Never. Once in while someone next to me at a light will take off really hard, much harder than normal. Not sure if it's due to my presence or not. I always ignore them and do what I do. I drive pretty close to the speed limit on straight roads, so it's rather common for someone to come up from behind wanting to get by. I'll oblige them once it's safe.

What amuses me is the other sort. You come up behind them, and they suddenly speed up dramatically. Are they trying to gap me, a type of race? Or are they just being considerate and decide to drive at a decent rate? On straight roads, I don't care, as long as they stay out of my way. On twisty roads, no one has ever gapped me. Ever. They usually either turn off or give up at a lay-by. Or the worst, they give up and go back to driving really slow, ignoring lay-bys. WTF?? That's the worst. Talk about sore losers!

I've had a few at the traffic lights. Sometimes, they get a bit embarrassing ... you put your foot down, and the DSC takes over, cuts out the power, and you limp off. Not good. For best results, from traffic lights, I think either engage DTC to ON (with Sport Mode On) via the quick short press,
.... or .... switch off DSC entirely (with Sport Mode On) via the long press and hold and blind them with tyre smoke.
But I think the fastest take off is with DTC On (the quick short press).

Of course, I would never do this, but I can imagine it would be funny as hell
