Behaviour

There have been several threads recently about the general behaviour of members to each other. I would like to take this opportunity to draw a line in the sand and remind people of a few things. I am not going to refer to things in the past, these are the rules going forward.

First and foremost, aggression, threats of violence, or anything deemed similar will not be tolerated at all... there will be no warnings, you will not be welcome on this forum.

If you feel you don't want to be on here anymore, just drop me a message and I will remove your account. Please think about this first, as I won't stroke your ego, I will remove you immediately.... gone! (sorry, too busy to play Mother to people!)

This is a public forum, with lots of new folks, and a lot of folks who read the posts and don't join. They don't want to read needless negativity all the time. By all means make a point if need be but don't bang on about this is naff or that is naff for all time... it doesn't make you look good and it doesn't make the forum look good. It's akin to a guy asking if you like his hat.... "no, not keen on it, I don't like the colour" is an appropriate response... "makes you look like a complete knobjockey, you chav" is perhaps a little over the top... am sure you get what I mean.

In terms of moderation, this forum has always been open and free. The good side of that is people can express themselves.... the bad side of that is people can express themselves! I would ask everyone to please think twice before posting. I am proud that we don't over moderate, but it does rely on people not pushing the boundaries too much.

That's pretty much it... I don't want to dwell on what's gone on... we all need to move forward.

Have to agree that there have been quite a few threads recently, where the topic has gone so wildly OT, and has in fact, upon occasion turned into a personal attack, sometimes on a new member - way to scare off the "new blood" lol.

Will be glad to see a return to "normality" whatever that is lol..

Some great changes to this place recently. I've only ben here a few months but found the constant aggression and constant sales pitch a bit much for a friendly community. Glad to see it's being nipped in the bud

I must admit, I haven’t seen anything myself - I suspect that’s because I don’t have time to go in The Lounge section... or I’m just oblivious to these things :(

I am an admin on a MX5 forum and it’s addociated FB page so I know how hard it can be trying to keep a cap on these things. It’s not too bad on a forum as the moderators have a lot more power but on FB it’s a minefield.

Lucky escape - I hardly ever wear a hat! :)

But a well-worded post from sp3ctre.
