Beep beep

When I started the car the other day it beeped and the temperature flashed on the computer a few times at 3.0C. The manual says this is an ice warning and happens when the temperature drops to 3.0C.

Is this warning for information only - be careful when driving because roads could be icy - or is there more to it?

It's a pre-dent warning. It warns you that if you take your Z4 out that morning, someone will probably slide into you! :P

Actually, I like the one my girlfriends Ford Fiesta ST has. It's a snow flake symbol that changes colour depending on the severity of the frost. Green, amber, red! :D

I heard this for the first time the other week. I was worried to here the car beeping at me but then when I saw the temperature flashing up on the dash I was relieved it's just a helpful warning. Reminds you to turn on the heated seats

Its just a warning that there is a possibility of ice on the roads. A lot of cars do it.

Powerontap is that true about the roof???? You mean I cant drive around with my roof down when its snowing?!?!

Mine did this as soon as i started the car when i went out for a drive this morning think it was telling me to go back to bed its Saturday

can this "feature" turned off by the dealer? Should they know how? I don't really like it, I think it's annoying... any instructions in case the dealer can't figure how to disable it.

Also deactivates roof operation on the car (except on the coupe  )

and for those fragile coupe drivers deactivates the window opening mechanism and turns up the heater.
