On the way to work this morning I had the DTC indicator start flashing and the Zed started acting funny, then the yellow brake light popped on. Everything seemed to smooth out but the lights stayed on.....

Needless to say, not a lot got done today for thinking about those lights and searching for everything I could read about this problem, seems like there's quiet a bit that could cause this and all I could foresee was a huge bill to get it fixed.

Got off this evening and pulled out the fault reader I had bought last week and checked it out, it appears that I have a bad right rear wheel speed sensor bad which was a relief, had to run out this evening and just got back a bit ago and searched the online stores of my local parts supplier and found a replacement for $83.00, but I've been thinking, with all the slush and wet roads we've been having the last couple weeks wonder what the chances are that it might be a bad connection? So tomorrow I'm gonna head out to the parts house and grab some dielectric grease just to try before forking out money for a new sensor, what do you all think? Reckon it might be worth a shot?

It's worth a try - I had this happen years ago on a 3 series ci - had been raining for days and just came on - once everything dried out it went and never came back!

I had a similar experience to Spikey.
An old Mkiv golf I had would throw and abs fault. It was when it was wet and salty on the roads. I thought maybe the wheel speed sensor was mucky, but couldn't understand how it would effect the signal. After looking at the sensors with the wheels off, I could see one sensor had a crack in the sensor housing. Only very small, but you could see loads of coils of copper wire in it.

I ended up washing the salt off, drying it, and on the next drive the abs reset the warning. I ended up changing the sensor as it was about £30 I think, but I bet a blob of superglue would have sealed it up.

Hope you get it sorted!

Well off to the parts store to get repair parts and dielectric grease, lol figure I won't mind a second trip back to return the part for my money back if the grease does the trick. Hate making 2 trips to get what I need though! :headbang:

Well I guess a snow day isn't all bad, got the new right rear wheel speed sensor on today, and reset the fault on the Zed. Can't really take it out and check it (white sh_t's still falling ), but for now the yellow brake light and DTC warning lights are off.

I noticed something else though:

Anyone have an idea about this? Says short circuit or signal interruption, could that be just a loose connection somewhere?
