Been out!

I don't see Tim knocking you,he only agreed with spectre regarding the warning given for abusive language and the photo you stopped by the roadside to take when you were out on your bike.In normal circumstances a nice post. These are not normal times and it opens the door for certain types to post abuse about well meaning people of which I have know doubt you are one.

Ok, I am happy to be called a “sanctimonious t**t”... thanks for that!

Going to say this once... if you want to bend/break the rules and want to go off on a drive in your car/bike, knock yourself out! Just do me a favour, keep it to yourself and don’t post about it on here. Many people have very good (some personal) reasons for wanting everyone to follow the rules/guidelines and posting your “two fingers” posts about how you are rebelling is just stirring things up.
Just don't post it here. Be a quiet 'hero' like some others.

I was quiet about my efforts, until I felt I was being called out.
Rob

No ones rebelling here Tim, maybe you’d like to tell us all how you’re helping others in these bad times?
Ann lost her uncle the day before yesterday so it’s not a great time for us at the moment.
I’ve been out many times that I’ve not posted about, my neighbour is recovering from cancer & been told not to leave her house, I’ve been getting her food and prescriptions.
I’ve also been going out in my duties as a parish councillor leaflet dropping in the village with my personal number for them, offering to help if needed.
I’ve also been out looking after the parish grounds. All for nothing Tim.
It’s galling when you know nothing about me yet seem to delight in knocking me.
Thanks for that
Rob

Well if that is the case then well done you.

However, knowing all the hoo-haa that has been going on throughout various other posts, in the current climate it would have been so easy to put a short, simple explanation in your first post and immediately cancel out any need for people to get the wrong end of the stick.
I agree you should not have to justify yourself to others, but everyone is so touchy at the moment that this would save all sorts of grief that need never have started.
For example, the phrase 'sanctimonious twats' may never have appeared.
Not preaching Rob, just saying that in the present circumstances we maybe all need to adjust our approach a little.
No offence intended.
I though his initial post was easy enough to grasp :? I didn't for a second think the bear was coming across smug or smart & Re reading it again I don't Think MR S has digested it fully either.
OK Pastry left us in no doubt of his stance but it was quite clear SB went out on a "essential" journey as he stated exactly that.
As with the other current posts it's the same old voices shouting louder & louder thinking that makes them right.

Wise words you dont want to catch clematis from tu lips

Apologies Rob, the thumbs up wasn't aimed specifically at yourself, sorry if you read it as that, I was just agreeing generally to what Sp3ctre was implying across the board.

I think enough has been said now on all of these threads and posts, obviously there are very different takes on what peeps on the forum think we all should and shouldn't be doing, the consequence being emotions running high and disagreements.

I'm not going to get into tit for tat on what I'm doing for the greater good, I'm sure we're all doing a plenty to help out relatives and the wider community generally. Like many that means helping elderly relatives, joining in helping out with local community groups which I'm involved with at the moment, I've neen redeployed in my job to help out in social care, meals on wheels etc emergency planning tasks, like I said most are probably doing something large or small to help out in these uncertain times

Best wishes,

Tim.

Ok, yes, I think you're probably right.
So many people have been a bit 'sly' with their use of the word 'essential' that I, amongst many, probably initially assumed Rob had snuck out for some R&R.
For which I apologise to our friendly bear, and hope he accepts my comments in the spirit they were made?

This bloody virus is turning people against each other.

Maybe we need a separate forum section for it, which we can choose to ignore as we wish.

I tend to just select the unread posts and start at the top. As of today I've been trying to bypass the virus-based threads as they're all becoming the same!

Apology accepted, when I said an essential journey i meant exactly that & wasn’t being sly at all. I’ve not been out joyriding in my car or motorbikes since the nightmare started.
