Time for my 2007 3.0si to go to bed - SORN'd until Spring.

Some may baulk at that - and I do sometimes think it would be nice to do a winter sunny day - but then it avoids all the winter salt, and it is always a special day when she comes out again Spring. Just hit 32,000 miles of sunny drives, so plenty of life left in the old girl. Might even have her long enough to become a 'classic'.

I couldn't bear to not drive mine for months, so through the winter it still goes out from time to time whenever there is no ice, snow or salt about.

I'm on the fence this year. Took it off the road last year and whilst I wouldn't have wanted to use it that much, there were 'those days' when all I wanted to do was get out in the Zed.

Probably work out at £30 a run though given the road tax costs!

Can you guys tell me what's involved in tucking a Z up for the winter. Is it as easy as just waiting for the new spring and taxing again.

Yep. Exactly that. A few people leave them on a trickle charger (me included) to keep the battery going and also pump tyres up to around 50psi to stop any bad spots.

Not for me to many nice days and opportunities to get out - took this last week when I had a drive over to Buxton via Bakewell.
Would hate to think I couldn't get out on those winter days when the weather does behave itself - that said I can imagine it's all the sweeter when you do get it back on the road

I cleared the garage on Saturday and have put my zed to bed now. -5 here at night already but the garage is heated so she'll be fine
