Long shot request but we placed a deposit with a bed manufacturer at Ideal Home show in Glasgow back in May.

Anyhooo..Bedmill.co.uk never came up with the goods and I have now asked my credit company to refund me the deposit.

Therefore, we have started our search again however was wondering if anyone had purchased a similar size and what company they used.Size of bed she wants is 220x220.

TIA

There are some geniuses on this forum

Rubes with her phd's and now taz is a mathematician :o

Indeed...at first I told missus to go for a super emperor size which is only slightly smaller but she insists on this size. It is available apparently...as she has bedding from white linen company that fits.

I have that size and its the best investment I ever made.

We have enough space ( or not depending on the mood) and when the kids came along we also had space for them too!

Go for it

We used to have a similar but slightly narrower bed... Think i got it from selfridges in london... Its great for the space... Have an argument with the misses and can still sleep in the same bed but apart!!

Only problem we had was getting bedding for it! Bedsheets fine, never found a vallance for it!

Just a wee update...

Ended up going to a place called Benson for Beds and ordering the Super Emperor. Slightly smaller than the 220x220 (5cms each way)she wanted but gets her off my back.

Thanks all..

Used Benson Beds to purchase a couple of top range beds and mattresses for export. Seemed a great company and product from first approach to delivery. Hope you have more success than your first purchase...

Still waiting for full refund from CC Co till they do their investigations...So almost 4k out of pocket and no bed yet lol. Although I'm pretty sure Bensons will come through.

But that got me thinking, 4k could happily been spent on an ESS I desperately want for the Z!!!

Damn you missus and your fancy beds!!

If you paid in cc simply get the cc company to refund you. They will ask you to complete a simple Questionnaire then place the item into dispute. Money will be out back on your account immediately until or unless the company supply the goods or refund you.

Did this with Dwell. B'stards had a great se on 3 months ago and filed for admin 10 days later. Never got the furniture, but thankfully a full cc refund.

They sent me the questionnaire and returned it couple weeks back but I was told the merchant has 40 odd days to relay with their client blah blah blah..

Not worried as I know Barclaycard will settle the dispute.

Not true. They should put it into dispute immediately. Cease charging interest and retain the right to add it back to your account and the interest of the merchant satisfies the sale or returns the money.

Thanks for the advice. You are right, the day I made the dispute Barclaycard refunded the deposit I paid and its now up to Bedmill to dispute this.

Just shows you how much attention I pay to the finances. Let her deal with it mainly and I had set it up to clear balance monthly so that no interest is paid.

Lol...all is done within the parameters of her knowing who's boss!!

She's only lying down after finishing the ironing, washing, hoovering and making the dinner. Hence why I thought why not buy a nice bed for all her hard work
