Just announced that he will donate his salary to a children's charity.
I know that not everyone likes him, but I think this is a real move that others could learn a lot from. Top man :thumbsup:
 
Great gesture from a top pro , Envy is the main reason he get's slagged off .
i Can't think of many better role models in sport for the last 20 years :thumbsup:

It is a nice gesture, I would have more respect for him if he had done it anonymously.

Going public will do his publicity good, but it will in turn raise awareness to the Charity.
Fair play to Beckham, i think he's a legend!

Bet you wont find Mario Balotelli doing the same lol

I think there's a world of difference between Beck's salary & Balotelli's - still well done that man.

I bet it's not that big, Beckham's was quoted at £150k per week. Balotelli is quoted as taking a cut to his £110k per week. So yes 50% difference, but the difference being Beck's overall bank balance is quite a bit bigger.
 
It's only for 5 months lol, and the money is meaningless to Beckham.

Don't get me wrong nice guy and everything, but it comes down to PR.
 
He will make more money off his own branding and sponsorships after this!

It was a shrewd marketing move. But he is a perfect role model for many kids, he wasnt the most gifted, but he full utilised his skills on the pitch!

Plus, he's thinking about life after football!
 
It's not like he needs the money but I really respect what he's done. He is, as others have said, a true legend. Great bloke,. Pity there aren't more like him in the Premiership. :thumbsup:
