Beautiful Z8

This morning I took my ///M Roadster in to my local BMW dealer for the annual state require inspections (Mechanical and Emissions) which takes about 1 hours assuming no problems. So I proceeded up to the ///M owners lounge which overlooks the showroom. As I was enjoying a cup of the complimentary gourmet coffee I notice below in the show room this beautiful Z8 Roadster....

I went down to the show room to look at it and it was in fact a 2003 Alpina Z8 with 3,706 miles. Titanium Silver with red interior. It is one beautiful car. The asking price is $136,990... :o That is about what the sticker price was when it was sold. While is is one of only 450 ever sold in the US and it is in like new condition but the price does seem a little stiff... :(

If anyone want to see more pictures or read more about this Z8 here is a link to the dealers web site & more pictures.

Great looking car! Some collector will snap it up despite the price. I dream of the M6 I saw last time at the dealer. My dealer doesn't have an M owners lounge..or maybe they didn't tell me! :) I'm stuck with the rest of herd by the fireplace downstairs. I have seen people fill there pockets with the complimentary beverages though.

Stunning car. In a few years' time your Z4MR will be just as scarce. Z8's are probably mostly stuck in collectors' warehouses, not being driven. Z4's on the other hand are still daily drivers, so are being totalled (or stolen and exported) apace. That 4:1 relationship is decreasing as we speak.

Hey, our Stealers do not have M Lounges, :o - we get the same indifferent treatment as all other customers.

I did a hunt for one recently, couldn't believe the prices.

Considering the exchange rate, and that all Z8s are LHD anyway, that seems pretty cheap!

I found a UK Non-Alpina Z8 with 70k for about £75k! ($130k?)

Mint low milers, again non-Alpinas with maybe 5-10k were going for £100,000.

Have to admit Id love one, and as much as I love the MR/MC, they will never be as sought after as the Z8.

I've never been a fan of either the alpina nor Z8 TBH.

P.S. Are Alpina ever going to change their rim design?

Never seen one in real life - only in James Bond

Must admit i'm not a massive fan of the exterior styling, but the inside looks pretty cool

Always surprised me how much these don't depreciate. Limited numbers I guess. Would have one in rhd.

I've never seen the inside of one but one passed me going downtown (at a very high rate of speed) and it looked really nice. I was in my Z3 at the time but just couldn't keep up. :) I saw it on more time and never again after that.

I often wonder about their reliability. Every single time I go to my dealer for scheduled maintenance, the same guy is there in a black Z8. Hilariously, he's exactly like Clarkson's stereotypical BMW owner - shirt and tie, always on his bluetooth. Maybe he's insanely fussy about the car, though. To me, the Z8 seems overpriced, from the perspective that there are lots more cars I'd want for the money, new or used.

I was in Barcelona with my wife around the time the Z8 was released. There was a BMW showroom with one in the window and i managed to pass it a few times a day just to have a look.

Stunning car very classic lines but the plastic rear window really lets it down IMO. The 360 has a very small plastic roof too which just looks pants if not care for well.

For £75-100k theres much better 2nd hand cars around.

Cheers
