Bearing or prop shaft noise

I have a noise when driving which increases with speed. Sounds like a bearing noise or coming from prop shaft.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Any one else come across this problem.

Does the noise change as you go round a hard left or right turn ? If so, it would point towards a wheel bearing.

Unfortunately not. The trouble is I cant actually make out where the noise is specifically coming from.
Thanks for your reply.

I had to replace a worn propshaft on a Mk2 Escort years ago. What I experienced back then was a rumbling noise and vibration when the engine / gearbox was not under load, if I remember correctly.
Robert.

Jack a corner up and spin the wheel. You may hear the noise then. Do all four to judge which is loudest.

Hi, have you considered if the noise is coming from your tyre. I mention as I had tyres which had become stepped and they made so much noise that would start around 35-40 mph. Less so at lower speeds. Perhaps run your hand over the tread to see if they are even or not. Costs nothing.
