Hi, as I’m still incarcerated at home with an injured foot I ventured outside & had a bit of a sort-out in my garage today.
My f800 motorbike will more than likely be repaired and delivered home soon and I bought a new bike last week that’s hogging all the space at the moment :?

Looks like time for a clear-out Rob.

I'm trying to decide whether I'm jealous - I lost my last garage in 2011, but then Mrs Tidy also relocated so it's a tough call!

Mind you I haven't had a bike since then, and I really didn't want to part with my RD400.

I’ve had many RD yamahas

Proper hybrid that!

Looks like it must be an RD 250C or D with a 350 engine - based on the coffin tank, alloy wheels and rear disc brake!

I had an RD250D (with spoked wheels), RD400C, RD350A, RD250 LC and lastly another RD400C.

My best "wake up the neighbours" bike was a KH500 with Allspeeds - I wish I had never sold that! :( Box-section swinging arm, Marzocchi piggy-backs, twin-disc conversion, chrome side cover and oil tank and maybe other bits I have forgotten.

Shame the photo isn't too good (it was taken with a camera that used film) but you get the idea!

That rd was an rd250e (footrests brackets attached above exhausts) rd350b torque induction cylinders on an rd250e bottom end & rd350lc pistons-micron exhausts and an aggressive port job made it an exciting ride :o

Oh, so a proper hybrid then!

I always wanted an E or F model for the electronic ignition so it stayed timed properly (unlike the A to D models with points)!

Putting 350 pistons, barrels and heads onto 250 bottom ends was a frequent mod but didn't last long without the 350/400 oil pump, unless you ran it on pre-mix!

Another trip down memory lane - I really need to find somewhere to keep a bike. :(

As I'd only ever want a 2-stroke, a YPVS 350LC would fit the bill just right!

Git - I've really gone off you now!!

BTW is that Suzuki in your 2nd photo an X5 or X7? They were great bikes - so light and nimble.

Seriously though I'll bet you wish you still had that YPVS - an iconic bike for me!

It was an x5 200cc, sold it about 3 or 4 years ago now

And yes, I loved my power valve, so much fun to ride!

Thanks Rob,

Back in 1986 I had a blue X5 (Suzuki, not BMW).

Great little bike.

Shame it seized a few months after I sold it.

So disappointed with you Smartbear
Thought your garage would be the picture of organisation. :poke: as we're going on about previously owned bikes here are a couple of mine.
