BMW Gathering at Beamish Museum:
With popular demand we are holding a BMW Car Club day at Beamish again. Beamish is a world famous open air museum. It tells the story of life in North East England in Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian times. Beamish stands in 300 acres of beautiful County Durham countryside. Within the site you will find Pockerley Old Hall, The Town, Rowley Station, The Fairground, Home Farm and The Pit Village. With so many things to see, Beamish is a wonderful day out for people of all ages, with free trams and buses to get you all over the museum. At the end of the day those wishing to stay a bit longer and display there cars in the town centre for a great photo opportunity. Now the important bit, the cost of this day out is only £8.00 per head if your in a BMW, normal admission is £18.00 per adult and £10.00 per child I am sure you don't need me to do the math's on that one. Entry is pay on the day at the gate into the show field, entry is from 9.30am till 11.00am arrive after 11.00am and unfortunately it's full price and park in the public car park. The only stipulation Beamish is strict about is there is no movement of vehicles between 11.00am and 4.00pm due to public safety, but I can assure you that if you arrive at 10.00am and want to leave before 4.00pm you have only seen half of this great museum has on show. Beamish is about two miles west off junction 63 of the A1M. Address is Beamish Museum, Beamish, County Durham, DH9 ORG. Beamish web site http://www.beamish.org.uk

Think am off next Sunday I will have a look down just live 20mins away and originally from Stanley up the road.
Where abouts is the entrance to the show field (main gates where car park is or round the side down near beamish hall??)

I'll be coming along but I won't be displaying, can't hang about for 6 hours I'm afraid.

Do I still get in for £8 ?

Great, hope to see you there :) the entrance required is to the side near the hall, there will be two people at the required entrance directing the traffic.

I am afraid this is not the case, parking in the general car park will be full price, Beamish are strict on no vehicle movement during the times indicated above :( make sure you pop over to say hello. :)

might have a dodge, ill see what the weather is like first, to see what im doing, im only from Sunderland.

Am not shying off or anything but the way the weather is going what's the chances of getting stuck in this field on Sunday.

Agree the weather forecast is not the best at the moment :|, things 'could' change, but from how it looks it isn't going to be the best day for it thats for sure.
Last year the weather was also unfortunately wet :x. There is still time to pop to the dealers and possibly get an X-Drive for demo :D

How was it?
I was planning on going on the bike as I wouldn't have been able to spend the day but the weather was just awful.

The weather was as we anticipated :(...... Wet. Overall 48 cars turned up which considering the circumstances was a great turn out. :)

Considering the weather wasn't ideal I personally enjoyed the day. As last year Beamish allowed us to move the cars into the main town area for a photo shoot, (after the site closed) 9 cars hung around to take advantage of this opportunity:

(I didn't take any pics prior to this in the main show field)

Yeah how was it was there many turned up?. I set my alarm for 7:30 ready to wash the car then looked out the window to see the weather, kept looking out every hour of so but honestly really didn't fancy spending the day in the rain. Was quite looking forward to it aswell.

48 cars turned up in total, great turn out. :)

I can understand your reasoning, the weather seemed to be worse mid morning ish.

Photos look great. Shame on the weather it's been nice for couple of weeks aswell hopefully better next time.
