BC switch/function retrofit?

My 2003 Z4 was the base model (didn't come with cruise control/power seats/etc.... just bare bones). I already installed cruise control and that worked fine (just purchased the switch, installed it, and it worked). Today I picked up a turn signal switch that had the BC button on it. My wife's 2003 325i (which is fully loaded) has the BC button on the turn signal and it allows cycling through outside temp/time/MPG/fuel used/etc. I was hoping that all I had to do was install the new switch (swap turn signal switches) and it would work. Well, no such luck as when I press the button nothing happens. Is there something else that needs to be changed?

Solved my issue/question. I looked into my "BMW Scanner" and found an option under the interment cluster coding that said (don't quote my exact words here) "display" and had an option for "everything". I checked that box, flashed the cluster, and now everything works.

So, if someone wants to do this retrofit you will need the switch and something to flash. Then it works fine.
