I ve heard somewhere ppl talking about the bmw's Boad computer can some a lot more info like how many liters are exactly in the tank , the exact temperature of oil , etc etc , is this possible on a bmw Z4 M ? and how to activate it ? many thanks.

I take it you mean 'on-board' computer?

Not via the stalk, but there are a bunch of hidden readings accessible by pressing and holding either the clock or oil check buttons....theres a couple of threads on here on the subject but I can't remember where....but Search will be your friend

Mate, I think this is what you're after:
http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=15176&p=222868&hilit=hidden#p222868

(it was only because I saw it recently I knew to search for "hidden")

It was fun testing the G-force section as well (hidden menu - hold Menu on the satnav screen down for 8 seconds in the Set option, the same place where you enable the perspective view).

in what sub-menu in the hidden menu is the g-meter ? i mean how is it called ? :headbang:

This used to work on my system, but I tried it again recently and can't get into it any more.

I was only trying to get my satnav back into perspective/bird's eye/3d mode again after it changed itself to 2d mode some time last week.

ETA: Finally worked on the 4th attempt today - although had to keep the [MENU] button pressed in for almost 20 seconds before it came up.

What i don't get. In this world of trying to outdo the competition, if all this info is in there, why didn;t they make it more accesible and then use it as an enhanced OBC ?? - having something extra and hiding it, is just a bit bizarre ! ! weird.

Do you really need to know all that stuff, all the time? I agree it should be selectable and available but 99% of the people will just get into trouble. Some of it may be changeable and cause issues if you don't know what you are doing. I work(ed) in Industrial control systems for a long, long time. If the operators knew what we could give them they would have had everything under the sun screwed up in days so we fought to only give them what they needed not what they wanted.
