BAVMODS keyless entry and remote engine start with mobile app

Looks much like the key set I have for the 7 series. Wouldn;t bother with the fancy digital key TBH - even with the added functionality of being able to remote park the car with it, mine sits unused in the faraday pouch - just too gaddam big & the phone does everything except the remote parking.

But yeh - keys look like the genuine BMW ones. Don;t see how they do the comfort access though without handles with sensors in.... wonder how that might work?

It looks like there's an antennae in their photos - the black part with a red plug. I'd guess that senses the key? I wonder how secure that is? Then again, given how poor manufacture's security can be, does it matter?(Although I bet insurance would be unhappy if that's how a car got stolen after retrofitting this)

The theft / insurance element is very real - that would be the biggest blocker IMHO. Comfort access / remote access was the first thing I looked into disabling on my car (failed to do so BTW - have to live with it).

3.36am on Monday this week I had thieves try to take the 7 series off the drive with 'relay theft' abusing the comfort access - very scary (failed attempt BTW - keys in faraday pouch).

I slightly like the comfort access features - but if I had a choice, I would definitely 100% not have it. The world we live in means it's just another risk.

You're getting 2 wireless keys at that price as well as everything else to wire it up. I don't know if it works, but anyone wanting CA, this is the least expensive path to it, or so it seems.

Doing an actual retrofit of CA means getting the go module, getting BMW AG to add CA to your VIN and ordering $$$ bmw CA keys, then adding the 4 antennae, 2 door levers + the door wire looms , then there the custom wiring since the main loom doesn't include CA if its not installed factory. Then the custom coding.

I looked into disabling on my car (failed to do so BTW - have to live with it).
Remove the connection to the touch sensors in the door levers and they likely wont try further. Faraday sleeves are a good decision.
