Looking at changing the battery, but am unsure on the way to go. the original battery is 80 ah... have been looking at bosch 77ah and 85ah

Would i be robbing the car if i fitted a 77ah or would i get any advantage in upgrqading to 85ah .....

Not very electrically minded so any help is apperciated

I don't know what the load from the car is, but I'd stay with the OEM spec or better.

Car electrics are so sensitive these days. Best to keep to OEM spec as Stuart says.

I wouldn't worry ah is the reserve power The bigger battery just gives more reserve so cranking it over on a cold damp morning, with lights on, when its not had a lot of charge, etc.

I've been running my 3.0 auto, (which should have the largest of the ranges batteries) on a lightweight race battery for years, with no I'll effect. Voltage drop on tired and poorly charged batteries is why causes the issues.

At said, I'd go for the larger amperage but most importantly the one with the longest warranty.

Changed mine for a Bosch S5 at the beginning of this year, no issues at all.

Buy The best, do not skimp on batteries, with batteries you get what you pay for, nothing more nothing less!

Generally true, but there can be a significant diminishing return on investment. A great battery that costs twice as much as an average battery is better, but not twice as good. Don't skimp, but don't get taken either.

ive just changed to the S5. tried to start the car last week for a sunday drive and nothing :x
