Battery Trickle Charger

Went to start the Z this morning and to my horror it would not start. It appears to be a flat battery so it should be fine again tomorrow it's on charge now. Hopefully it will be ok if not I will order a new one.

I don't use my Z as a daily driver any more and have had to do a few short journeys the last couple of weeks I know it's bad for the car but I don't have another car. I think this has drained the battery. I was wondering if any one uses a trickle charger or if they disconnect the battery when not using the Z normally it would only be used at weekends.

Once the battery is charged or if I replace it I don't really want to find the car not starting on a sunny morning again and miss out on valuable driving time :driving: so thought I'd ask what others do when they don't use the car all the time.

I've used trickle chargers on all my German cars. If it's older or you go a long time, the alarm system will kill a battery so dead it can't be revived. (Expensive personal experience)

Any longer than a week and I hook it up...

+2 for CTEK.

Thanks I will invest in a CTEK. Can't miss another nice sunny day like today again because of a flat battery...

I got one from LIDL FOR £13.99 which works really well. I have the zed hooked up on trickle charge at the moment. I know when the battery is weak when I try to open the roof with the key and only the windows go down.
