Battery replacing + auto leccy windows Question

Hello guys,

My car wouldn't start yesterday, it would just click and flicker the lights. Second time in a week, so I put the battery on trickle charge overnight to sort it, but driving to work I noticed that all my clocks etc have been reset, my auto windows aren't working and my headlights were pointing at the floor. I reset my clock, adjusted my headlights and I'm looking to buy this battery at lunch http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_734753_langId_-1_categoryId_165762 - is this the right one? My car is a 2006 model, so presume the battery has died.

I can fit it myself, but do I need to do any procedure with the new battery and also how do I get all my electric windows fixed? Will that require BMW to have a look?

Don't know about the battery but open each window and hold the button for 5-10 secs whilst fully open and then the same closing will reset the windows.

Not sure about the electrical issues and maybe a new battery will resolve most. Nothing special to do in terms of changing just disconnect and replace. Hopefully eveything will come back to life.

From previous experience, I have found the battery from the dealer itself actually cheaper than Halfords, expecially with the 10% BMW membership discount.

Just replaced the battery in the cold- freezing now. All seems to work fine, was a pain to get the to the back nuts.

I tried resetting the windows but had no luck, does the car need to be running?

Thanks I'll give that a go.

I have kept my old battery, it seemed to work fine after a charge and a drive, then randomly die on me. Then charge again and it's fine. Either end of it's life or not holding it's charge. I had it tested a few months ago and it showed up fine...
