Battery recommendations please...

I had an S5 in my 3.0, perfect fit. They do make a few sizes however so best check the part number and exchange :)

i should have bosch s5 fitted to mine on wednesday with everything else needing done too.

the car really benefits from the s5 with all the electronics and it's had issues with starting, alarm and the transmission on the cheapo lion battery. basically false readings on sensors due to not enough voltage being supplied.

low battery causes so many issues i'd rather go for top of the range for the £20-£50 more than be tight and have those issues. bosch s5 all the way.

My Bosch S4 fitted perfectly. What one have you bought?

Bosch s5 mate, my BMW battery was a tight fit in the space

As another member has posted, check the Part numbers as you may have been given the incorrect sized Bosch s5.

Mine is an S4 007 (S4/S5 is merely the warranty duration of the battery. 4 is 4 years, 5 is 5, pretty self explanatory).

When I was looking for one online, I remember it telling me I needed an S4 063, which was incorrect.

Do you have a photo of the one you bought?

Don't have a photo currently. The one the site said was for my car was an 096 I think

The dimensions for all the other Bosch are the same as what I have, I'm wondering if my car has a freakishly large BMW battery because of the nav etc? Feck knows

Varta E44 in mine, happy with it so far. £60 ish online

That's what I got just over a fortnight ago, based on your posts. Seems fine so far. I can now leave the car longer than 2 days before it going flat!

Hmm, I'd like to go for a Bosch S5 but I'm totally confuzzled by the choice on offer.
I have a lot of toys on this car and there is also an amp for the hifi mounted at the back of the battery bay.
The current battery is a Honda branded one which I think is dead wrong and I also have a couple of throtle body voltage fault codes.

Any idea how to determine correct size (dimensions) battery?

The Bosch Battery App indicates that the S5 008, Order Number 0 092 S50 080, ETN-Number 577 400 078, 77 Ah, Dimensions 278 x 175 x 190 would be OK for your car.

The S4 005 would also be OK and a bit smaller - 60Ah, Dimensiond 242 x 175 x 190
