Battery Problems Post Accident

Last week someone decided that my front bumper needed a new ornament of an Alfa 159. It looks like my car only sustained superficial damage and nobody was harmed so it's one of those things. With all the time it took getting the other party sorted and trying to stop shaking like a leaf, my hazards drained the battery. I called the AA out, they gave it a charge, said the battery itself was fine and I was on my way. Over the weekend, she started intermittently displaying the red battery warning light. On Monday, drove her to work to see if that would help recharge it and low and behold, I couldn't start her at the end of the day. My other half gave me a jump and checked under the hood to make sure all the wires were secure. We thought we had sorted it and again, off I went. Tried to start her this morning and no bueno. She's scheduled for a check at Munich Legends next Monday but I wondered if anyone had any immediate suggestions as to what the problem might be? The shunt was purely on the front bumper and there's no visible denting or push back in the engine bay.

Thanks in advance!

If you drained your battery that much and haven't even tried giving it a charge (not via driving it) then I'd say it's your battery. If it's the original then even better time to change. Even if these batteries drop slightly then all sorts of electrical gremlins start to appear. Basically, I'd start at your battery.

When the AA came out, they tested the battery and said it was in full working order with good charge and when we used jumper cables, they were sparking off the battery. We're in an apartment and can't get an extension cable out to actually charge her up however driving from the accident took about 45 minutes and driving to work is about 30. I guess a jump and trip to get the battery tested is in order, I was just quietly hoping there were some wiring issues I could resolve first!

No gaptech fitted for me!

Thanks for the help!
