Hi,

Was wondering if anyone has done this mod? I want to fit a z4m exhaust to my z4 3.0 bt realise the battery is in the way. I have seen a pic that was posted by CJ that looks like what I need to do for the quad exhasut to fit. I was just wanting some finer detail like does it involve cutting out some boot floor etc?

Any help greatly appreciated

Thanks guys

Thanks for posting the link jan.

Alun - any questions ask away, but for starters no boot cutting, just add a plate when you shrink the battery box. Need to remove the charcoal filter too.

Perfect, just what I was looking for. Thanks for your help guys. A quad conversion is definitely on the cards, just need to get hold of the two OEM backboxes. If anyone has a set for sale then let me know.

Cheers

Hi CJ,

Just wondering what battery you used and the dimensions? Will be doing this mod soon hopefully.

Thanks for your help.

Are they all the same dimensions though? 20ah battery seems a bit low?

The correct answer is an SBS40 Hawker battery, although as they seem rare I'll be swapping in the next week or so to an Odyssey Extreme 40 which is the same battery, but badged more as a race battery than Hawker.

Spec is here:
http://www.odysseybattery.com/extremespecs.html

It's a 45Ah with 500cca and has been adequate to run my Zed for many years.

Best price I've found from a quick look today was £160 delivered with 2 years or £185 with 5 year.
