After standing for a week the car wouldn’t open, after opening with key battery was 12.2v, car started with jump leads and drives normally.
Battery is 5 yrs old, it needs replacing, I’m not sure about registering a new battery could someone explain the process.
I have a BMW dedicated scanner that includes G29 information is that likely to allow battery registration?

Register is to tell the DME that a new battery of identical spec to the outgoing battery has been fitted..so rebase your charging and conservation strategy…

A BMS specfic app / coder should be able to do it

Once these batteries run down, it’s worth replacing. The scanner you have may allow registration.
Before changing though, does the auto start stop still work? If it does then the battery is fine and you might have a drain somewhere.

You mean comfort access or also buttons not working?
I think this is normal behaviour for comfort access.
According to the manual (who reads that anyways…😉), when the car is in rest state for a couple of days keyless opening and closing is only possible after the car has been driven again.
