Battery light

Evening all
My battery light on my 2003 e85 3.0i keeps coming on and staying on once in around 10/15 times of starting the car. It will stay on until I run for around 15min, at which point if it turn car off and on again it goes off.

Any suggestions on a fix? Is it likely to be battery?
 
Light suggests battery is not charging - could be alternator
If battery is the original then it may be a good idea to replace it
