Ouch that spring looks painful...runs off to check my springs for three blue paint blobs of death... :roll:
 
I see that you've mentioned the OEM car cover earlier in your thread.

I found that if the cover is on for long periods, the elasticated straps that go inside the boot become very saturated, so much so that they allow water to run down between the panel gap and into the boot - this could be your problem.

I caught the problem early and only ended up with a slightly damp carpet, but if it was left like this for a few days it could easily lead to flooding.

ive had a leak in my boot for ages! in the little pocket bit on the drivers side! piss wet through! need to chack my drain holes but no idea how to do it!

Have a check around the light seals too as that might be the issue. the roof drains are very easy, some pics on here and some proper threads too. unless lowered don;t bother taking off the wheels :thumbsup:

Hi Andrew. My cover too was I presume the older type which yes had the elastic rear fitting. It was left for a couple of weeks in torrential rain non stop back then which is when this happened. seemed too much of a coincidence to me. I haven't used it since, but not really a controlled test as I have also been parking the car nose down on the drive and have cleaned the roof drains. Thanks for sharing. Tom

i see what your saying but i have no idea how to do the drain holes. ive looked with the roof down but cant see where i need to be looking or what i have to remove to get access!
