Hey all,
Need help with an electrical issue. I hand washed my car, but when I was dropping back my wash products off at a friends I opened the boot to find the bucket I had placed all the products in had fallen over and the lid from the tyre de-greaser had spilled everywhere.
It had spilt half a bottle over the battery and DSP amp in the boot. Not as bad as it sounds as it wasn't a Hugh amount. I dried it all out but the battery died after 3 days and now needs a jump every time.
Here what I have tried so far:
- Check the alternator is charging the battery okay. Output fine
- bought a new battery just in case
- took out the amp and cleaned all connections
- even took the amp fully out for a while but it still drained over night
I then took out the fuses 47 + 50 that connects the radio and that seemed to fix the issue but, it also takes out the dashboard light and indicator tick sound.
Please can someone help.
All I can think to fix the issue is to replace the head unit and DSP amp with aftermarket parts as BMW want £780 for a replacement DSP amp
