Battery drain

Hi everyone, I am new to this so hopefully I'm doing the right thing. I have owned my Z4 E85 3.0i for over a decade now but as of two month ago I have battery drainage and a fully charged battery would be flat within hours. I have replaced the alternator about a year ago and just put a new battery in. I have also checked the amplifier, head unit, siren/alarm and had no problem with any of them. DVD player/sat nav unit was a different story though. Initially I had 1.96 amp drainage as it was not going to sleep at all but when I disconnected the DVD player it went down to 0.18 which is a lot better but still not good enough. Afterwards I realised that the backlight on my instrument cluster is on at all times now and since then it's not working properly i.e I can't see when I am indicating, even though the indicators are all working. Has anybody had similar sort of problems? I would really appreciate some sound advice as I am not sure what to do next. Do I need to replace the DVD player and the cluster or do I need to do something else. Many thanks in advance :)

I do wonder about the battery on my e89. I bought a voltage meter to check it but it seems fine. All I know, however, is that auto-stop/start NEVER works (maybe twice in 18 months has it kicked in). I do a lot of local driving... short trips here and there, and I know that's a root cause of draining the battery, but I don't think other cars I've had have been as bad as this one for losing battery power.

Suggest you post this in the E85/86 section not the E89 section..
