Morning all....

That doesn't sound right, does it??

I do a lot of traveling, this week it was only 3 days mind you, came home and the battery is completely dead in the z4...

Does putting the roof down using the key (without the engine on) really work the battery???

I'll give it a charge, it does look pretty new, but maybe time for a newer heavy duty on...

I only use my Z at weekends but if i don't keep a trickle charge on the battery is noticeably low when starting .
ECP have them discounted at the mo http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/BMW_Z4+Coupe_3.0_2006/p/car-parts/car-electrics-and-car-lighting/electrical/car-battery/?444771006&1&d2f6e004ac0cc3f174caf103dd83e2b3d6d3a884&000020
should more than do it

may be worth checking the boot light is going out when the trunk lid is shut, had this a few times on my z3mr, failing that , how old is the car, it could well be the original battery and as many of our cars stand for long periods between drives, the battery could just be on its last legs. a trickle charger is the best way to maintain optimum battery life , the new generation ones alternate between charge and maintain as required. good luck

The car sits outside so no trickle charger, plus the bike is already on one!

It's not the original battery, looks newish but may be a cheap one...

I figured the roof trick may drain the battery, plus I've not used it far long distances.....

New battery in the Euro Car Parts sales! Lol

Cheers
