Battery conditioner

I have spent all weekend cleaning my garage out so I could put my Zed in there before the fireworks start (my last Zed had one sticking out the bonnet last year which caused a massive dent!) so I was thinking it might stay in there over this winter, what do you folks do about the battery/charging? Is there a conditioner you can connect on without disconnecting the battery?

Mine has charging points under the bonnet against the bulkhead is what I connect to. It means the bonnet is open whilst the battery is charging in the garage,but also means I remember to disconnect it before driving off.

What do you use, just a standard trickle charger?

does the trick , the Ctek cigarette lighter adapter is £8 but is well worth it for ease , or you can convert an old phone car charger as i did :oops:
 
Doesn't the 12v cigarette lighter socket shut down a few minutes after the ignition is turned off or is it a permanent feed ?

Always worked on my 2006 coupe , left on for a weeks no probs :thumbsup:
 
I've away quite a bit and have a CTEK plugged into a http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/ctek/6-4mm-connection-lead.aspx?source=google-base&variant=790&gclid=CJ-vy4iWq7kCFU1k7Aod4UsAMQ wired directly into the battery in the boot. Does the job perfectly and allows you to leave the CTEK unit in the boot if you wish.
 
As halfColin says the boot is a neat place to hook up to using a ctek and the fitted lead makes it simple.

I got a Swedish CTEK clone from Lidl about a year ago. Amazing bit of kit, only cost £14.99 and currently hooked up to the front terminals in trickle condition mode on my car. Tend to put it on if I'm not going to use the car for any longer than a week.
 
Buy 1 of these from Halfords. 1/2 the price of the C-Tek and apart from a few less LED's it does exactly the same job.

I have a C-Tek but also now have 3 of the Halfords ones that keep my boat and 2 of the fleet charged when we are travelling.

+1 for the ctek. great little device. i paid about 35 for mine. its to keep my westfield topped up as i have some fancy (meaning royal pain in the arse) gel battery in it. it came with all the connectors people have linked to above. well worth the money IMHO
