Battery Conditioner on a Z4M

Does anyone use a battery conditioner on a Z4M to keep it topped up whilst in the garage? I checked the manual last night and it looks like you would attach it to the positive and negative terminal under the bonnet? I thought it may be easier to attach the terminals directly to the battery in the boot since in my small garage its not easy to get to the passenger side of the bonnet but the battery seems quite well encased:roll:

hi there,
yes, thats what iv'e done.i use the accumate 12v which is great.the fitment that you need to connect onto the battery also comes with it.if you lift the boot up you'll find a little channel towards the light cluster that the power cable fits into nicely so you can close the boot  one thing thou, you need to file the o ring connection to fit onto the battery terminal as the securing bolts are slightly bigger

My Z stays connected all winter and with the last two seasons I have had no problems at all. Mine is connected to the terminals in the engine bay as I find it easier, but there should`nt be any problem with directly fitting the charger to the battery. I`ve found that even after leaving the car without the charger connected for several weeks there has never been an issue with starting, takes a few turn overs but always catches, so the trickle charger is just peace of mind.
