lidl have these trickle chargers this week at 14 quid most sinilar ones are 45 to 80 quid , plenty left yesterday after i bought two, come wirh clamps and ring terminals so i have connected to battery in boot which leaves just a plug to connect ro, the boot seal is soft enough not to damage the cable , much less hassle than using the under bonnet connections, i have a cigarette socket adapter too but with the self closing windows on the m i cant use it. good luck

i have a ctek, but a cheap spare maybe worth having

If a battery is linked to the system on charge, it will not do it effectively. You can only run a car battery down to flat a few times before it breaks down and won't hold its charge any more. To protect the battery from doing this, you remove it for charging. If you can get a battery conditioner, that would help also. I've destroyed batteries like they are going out of fashion on my old evo as the cold and lack of use meant the battery died, then after a few times of recharging it on the car, they died.

these trickle type chargers are also conditioners, they state that they are to be used with the battery still connected on the vehicle, just giving the amount of charge required , when fully charged they go to maintenance mode wher they allow the battery to dischgarge to a certain level then charge up again etc etc therefore exercising and maintaining the battery at its optimum. did this for 5 years on my 3m with no problems , now on the 4m . :D

if i connect both my ctek and my lidl charger together will it trickle charge twice as fast or will it trickle charge twice as slow?

With Taz, it is like sending both Carol and Ruby to visit him.

Will his heart go twice as fast or twice as slow :D
