Band A to Band E insurance

Late post, and no I'm not pissed or just in from a night out :lol:

Mega busy week, what(?), with moving house and work being a bit crazy at the moment (pensions industry has never been so manic, at least for me!).

So I sorted my insurance tonight following my house move.

I've lived in Edinburgh for a year and have just bought a new flat there. However, my zed has lived near Forfar at my parents house since I moved to Edinburgh (small rural farming village, east Scotland). Last year I only covered 2,500 miles (ish) in the zed.

I called insurance company today, and got the best news I've had all week. All of Edinburgh is Band E insurance - very expensive. Where my parents stay is Band A - i.e. cheap as chips. Plus my car was in their garage, which I know can increase premium, but was cheaper for me.

I reckoned my existing £800 premium was going up £400 at least. No. I was wrong.

£120 increase! That. Was. It. :thumbsup: Possibly due to CCTV guarded underground parking at my new place? Not sure????

Also, getting my zed lowered 25mm on Monday (that's 40mm if you have SE springs). No extra charge :D :thumbsup: Pics to follow. Don't worry!

I've been reading on the forum that insurance can be cheaper if your car is parked on the road than on your drive! :scratchhead:

Please - everyone else - don't start quoting how much you all pay for insurance (wasn't intended be that kind of thread) I don't mind my premium. Sure I'd love if it was lower, but dont tell me if yours is :poke:

Derby Z4 - yeah that can happen. Mine worked out cheaper in the garage at my folks house. So I did that.

I guessed that secure underground parking at my new place would be cheaper. It was :)

I think there was a thread about his 'Bentley GTC' when he was called NickM on this site and I understand at the time he was an employee at a sandwich shop in Portswood Rd Southampton, then he changed his username (IMO he and I know why) he could only take a photo of the inside of the GTC from out side the car with the window up :rofl: it's alleged his Ex called him "Walter Mitty"

And all of a sudden he now has a Merc,

People should just be who they are and not who they want to be :roll:
