Badge Replacement

Having spent my first few weeks as a Z4 owner, reading as many of the entries in this forum as possible, I have learnt a great deal about the Z4, some bad but a lot of good and I am certainly glad that I made the choice to buy one. The only thing I don't quite understand, is the number of people on here who seem to have followed the practise of de-badging their Z4. Maybe I will understand, the more I read. My previous owner was obviously a believer in this, or maybe some scally just took a fancy to them, but it is missing the rear Z4 badge and also the 2.5i badges. Is it still possible to get hold of these badges for a 2004 model, or is it the good old second hand market again. What I don't want is some cheap Chinese or Tiwanese copy adorning my car
 
There are a number of official BMW dealers that sell the real deal slightly discounted via eBay or just go into your nearest dealer they are all available just expensive, but agree get the real deal if you want quality parts.
 
There is a Z4 badge on eBay at the moment, going for £8 currently - search for BMW Z4 Roadster Bootlid Badge. Failing that, get the code from realoem.com and give Sopers BMW a ring on 01522 690000, quote the forum and get a price with free postage and a discount :thumbsup:
 
I have always debadged my cars for as long as I can remember. I think it declutters the car, removing distractions that interfere with the purity of the body design.

I think the Z4 particularly benefits from this as not only does it have two badges on the boot lid, but also those on the wings.

Also particularly in the case of bigger engine cars I prefer not to shout about what's under the bonnet and keep people guessing.

Debadging seems to me to be far more popular on the smaller engined versions, you see loads of A3s and smaller engined 1 &3 series with no badges. Often it's the exhaust the gives the game away! :wink:
