Badge removal

Gave the car a wash and blow dry today (yes really) and after standing back and admiring my handiwork I thought that the rear would look much better with the silver ‘Z4’ badge removed. It looks a bit of an afterthought to me and maybe it’s because my previous Z4 which was a E89 came de-badged on the rear and sides. The original owner ticked that option box and I think it looks much cleaner. So my dilemma is how easy are the badges to remove and if anyone else has done it did they immediately regret it i.e. the paint lifted or there was a colour mismatch from where the badges had been. Don’t want to open a can of worms unnecessarily. Those badges have been there 15 years now :|

Dental floss with remove badge and most of the glue. Various options to remove glue, just be careful of paintwork. Would expect a different colour underneath after 15 years though.

Took mine off a while ago, but there was a shadow left in the paint. I could only tolerate it for a short spell and ended up fitting them again. Still deciding whether to refit the 3.0i back on the wings.

Previous owner removed my 2.2 badges on sterling grey and no marks left. I have seen a video with dental floss and very careful use of a heat gun. Very careful.
