So after some hesitation I decided to order the lovely set made by Machine Monkey!!

Now hoping Machine Monkey makes some nice pedals and a stainless steel cupholder :poke:

Machine Monkey (member on the forum) made me a short gear knob, handbrake handle and radio knob, which I just fitted today... I think it looks AWESOME!

Having just bought a new camera, I took the opportunity to make some interior pics :-)

Only problem is, I am not sure where to get them as I bought mine from Powerontap... Possibly Sopers Lincoln in the UK, or a dealer ? Might try and find the part number and add to my thread actually.

No part numbers on those Bing, only one guy in Germany who sells them. BTW, great write-up, awesome team work.

Indeed, thanks again powerontap

Every time I get in the car I look at my dash and think 'that looks frickin great' :driving:

Bad - nice shot man 8)

I still don't understand why I get so many negative responses (not as much on this forum though) on the M-badge... There are loads of M-spec beemers out there that are non-M's. Even some diesels have M-badges directly from the factory. Now my car is anything but standard, as many Zeds on here. I'm looking for a more sporty version, spending thousands on changes to the car and still that little piece of plastic on the boot seems to annoy people (especially Z4M-owners). What does the M really stand for if BMW puts it on non-M cars too? For me it stands for the fact that my car is different, personalised, like an M-pack you would order when buying a new BMW, even if it's a non-M: improved wheels, springs, sport exhaust etc...

I'll probably remove the badge anyway, because I'm simply tired of the remarks of "specialists" that seem to get annoyed by it. I quite like the look of the badge, it simply looks good on the back of the car. That is also why I haven't put any on the sides, because I did not like the look. Quad exhausts, M-bumpers, M-hoods can't be found on non-M Z4's either, but that doesn't seem to be a problem, no it's when you have an M-bagde that makes you a "wannabe". Oh well... :|

You are right bad there are a lot of people who get upset about it. but they put the m badge on any car with lowerd suspension fat steering wheel special seats. But no performance. I can make you a badge I am looking to make some Z4 badges.

Don't get too down about it mate, it's your car and it doesn't matter what people think.

I think the little M logos on the steering wheel, alloys, gear knob etc on 320 M-Sports for example are just trim upgrades IMO. The rather larger M badges on the boot you will only really find on specifically M tuned cars, where the entire car has been overhauled by the M team, most importantly the engine.

I think that's where the issue lies, I know it's just a small piece of plastic/metal that says ///M but it's what that represents and a premium has been paid to achieve that.

That's actually not a bad idea! What if we had a badge for all those Zed's out there that are non-M's and also non-standard? Something both parties can live with?
