Just taken out the insurance for the Z today, £1610 ;-( thank you Mr Police Man for my SP30!

25
3yrs NCD
£1100 Excess!
should be getting £700 back from the policy ive canceled at least

Ooooo spicy man.... :o

Am sure insurance just goes up and up these days.... not feeling so bad about my 650 quid now

Thats me 27 (then) 7 years NBC 0 points and 1 accident in 3 years (one car involved no injury) Mrs as a named driver

I was surprised how expensive mine was. I swapped the insurance over from my 500bhp, highly modified RX7 Drift car (and they knew about every mod which made for a massive list!) It went up from £500 to just under £900 :o

Don't believe them when they say it will reduce next year when you have more NCD, or that it'll decrease when you get older.

I've been waiting 20 years for my insurance to reduce solely based on age/NCD and it's yet to happen.

i renewed mine monday, i'm 25 3ncb, no points, no claims, voluntary excess £150, compulsory excess £100
came to £573 fully comp :)

Renewed mine in February, £778 and a £400 Excess with Churchill , old codger of 48 and still paying through the nose....No change though with my recent SP30 on any of my policies....The joys of a Liverpool post code

For info here's a list of insurance post code risks.

Mine is B - anyone in an F should contemplate moving NOW. :D

It's over £1k for mine:
  • 10+ year's NCD
  • 1 non-fault claim 2 years ago
  • clean licence (hard to believe, but it is)
  • L25 postcode (between Woolton, Speke, Halewood) - 'only' Band E according to Half Colin's post
  • Parked on drive/road/random client site car parks
  • 20k miles (SDPC & Business Class 1)
  • European cover (180 days max, up to 90 days at a time)

Have been with Bell for the last 2 years as they were the cheapest by about 30% for like-for-like cover. This year they wanted much more than last year, and couldn't provide any reasoning for another rise so soon after last year's 30% across-the-board rise, so did my normal comparison shopping and found LV= were 10% cheaper than I was paying last year.

I only left LV= for Bell when they removed my track day cover at renewal without telling me. I only found out when I called as normal to notify them of an impending event, and it was scary doing my first event for 10 years without insurance (had never claimed/crashed either).

£460.00 for 25,000 miles per year, 9 Years NCD, no points, cost me an extra £30 for a no fault/claim accident 2 years ago

ours is £375 z4m roadster the wife and i she has full no claims i have 3 yrs moved l&v wouldnt in sure us at all i am an old git

How does the insurance process work over there? Are these prices yearly? I see there is a mileage limit?

Mine is $63/month ($756/yr) for full coverage and a $500 deductible. I am 27 and have only 1 speeding ticket in the last 5 years.

Hi chjade84. The prices people are quoting are for the annual charge. It's better to pay for the whole year in one payment, as most insurance companies will charge you interest for paying monthly here in England (and Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland I guess?). Where people live and store their car seems to have a big influence on the insurance cost.

We can choose the excess payable in most instances - from a minimum compulsory charge, can start at about £150 - £200 depending on your car / policy. So if you elect to pay more of a voluntary excess, say £500, on top of the compulsory, this can make your insurance cheaper (excess £700 total), in comparison to paying a volunatary excess of £100 (total excess £300).

:)
