Bad radio reception

Hello

I’ve got an 2003 E85. Car has the CID navigation system and DSP sound system.

The radio suffers from bad reception.
When checking faults I get “ 000002 RAD: Fault in aerial power supply”.

I checked power supply for the radio amplifiers and they’ve got supply.
I removed all three amplifiers for the antennas and disassembled them to check for corrosion or other visual defects but not finding anything suspicious.

Anyone had issues like this and got a solution or a method for locating the faulty component?

Which antenna are you checking? The one in the bumper or the one on the boot?

I haven’t checked any antenna, just looked at the amplifiers as the fault code tells me one doesn’t work. Replaced the rod without improvement.

The two in the left rear trunk. One attaches directly to the antenna and the other is connected and mounted a few inches away from the first one.

OK. You didn’t locate the problem to one of them? Just replaced both at the same time?

There’s one between the “large” amplifier and the rear “bumper”-antenna. Two cables attached. That one you didn’t replace?

Replaced the diversity module now (the large one) and it works again :)

I’ve seen some people getting a list of radio stations in the CID. I don’t do so. Is it an option or is it only available on facelift cars?

I had a similar issue. Had to replace to antenna amplifiers to get reception working again.

Did you have a fault code or just poor reception; and, did you replace them with new units or second-hand?

I've got an issue with no radio signal in my e85. Tried to replace to stubby but no luck

How best to diagnose the issue and tomjonesBT33 where did you get the parts?
