Just an observation from a northerner - the SE meets are always south of London which make them almost inaccessible for us. It's such an extra ball ache having done 130-140 miles to get to the M25 to then have to circumnavigate London as well. If you had one in the Home Counties sometime it would be good.

How many of you southern softies are coming to my next Scottish meet then? :D

Any less than 20 and I'll be most offended :poke:

The driving roads are good, just ask Bing :D

Most of my M's miles were made either in Europe or in Scotland. Attended 3 Highlander meets / Skye in my M and one in my 3.0. Great roads indeed and have been lucky most times with the weather as well.

The single track roads with no chance of a speed trap are a joy to drive, the way back down south not so much when the weather is nice and every force is trying to reach their quota :x

Oi :poke: BOE notes are totally fine in Scotland, it's the other way round that causes issues

So, you coming to my next meet or what? :D

I love our trips back to Scotland, totally worth the almost 1,000 mile round trip - I don't believe anyone from the South who makes the effort to go on a Scottish meet will ever come away without the same opinion. Hopefully my motor will be going back to Skye in August  :driving:

One of these days I want to do a Scotch run [is that an allowed term?].

Ullapool was our last base, some great sweeping roads there.

I have seen Fort Williams from all directions I think as you can't get anywhere without going through there :D 15 or so Zeds getting petrol there twice a day :D

Sounds great but I'm not sure I could face the drive there & back :(

And that's exactly to the sort of attitude that will see you denying yourself - and Tricky Jnr - an experience that neither of you will ever forget

We leave really early to stay ahead of the traffic - 5am - and we're at my Dad's in Fife by mid afternoon... And that includes 2 or 3 stops.

It's a proper bonding Mission

I leave late morning and stay in the Glasgow Hilton using my hotel prostitute points 8)

Fortunately I have my Dad's place to stay in... Though I am now VERY interested in points earned through hotel prostitutes

@TrickyDicky - love the new sig pic

OK, sorry boss

Maybe I'll dose up on pro plus for the next one then. I guess if it's quiet, it's a case of set the cruise control and relax.

Slightly off topic but we're planning a trip to BMW Welt (world) in Munich some time in the summer hols (definitely not driving to that one though). Also someone on M3cutters was talking about a dads and lads trip to the ring (but probably not actually driving on the ring, which I'm in 2 minds about anyway after 2 colleagues ended up with very bent cars....)

EDIT, just realised this whole conversation is way off topic already.... :hijacked:

I wouldn't worry about that, I've read the entire thread and I still don't understand who is moaning about who, what or why :tumbleweed:

Same here! One of those occasions where wandering off topic seems appropriate.
