Can't beleive it, my bowden cable went today , i first noticed it when my door handle had to be pulled up quite hard to get the door to open the inside handle was fine.

Trying to discover the problem shut the door then bugger neither handle worked, ok panic set in now , how am i going to get the door open now?

Luckily the door card can be removed with the door shut a bit fidily but not imposible .So with a bit of luck more than judgement got the door open again ,removed airbag for better access than proceded to remove the lock mechinism than discoved the problem , broken bowden cable. So looks like a trip to the dealers tomorrow.

You may ask your self a bad day for cables, well went to open my garage to get my tools out and the bloody cable broke on that to.

So two jobs booked in tomorrow now ,just hope the weather will hold out. :headbang:

see the cable fairy has made you a visit  better go check the pull start on the lawnmower if u have one :poke:

How easy a job was to change the Bowden cable? Going to sort mine whilst the door panels are off...

One of the cables on my garage door has been snapped for over two years .... really ought to fix that, but it doesn't look all that easy.

Thats a bad day indeed

I have a spare door lock cable at home.. Which i got from a breakers... You can have it for free/ postage if you want.

Cheers mate but I just order one yesterday only £9.00 . Will be fitting it at the weekend hopefully if the weather holds out .

I know I'm reviving an old thread here but is replacing the bowden cable for a door handle especially difficult? Does it require a special BMW tool?
