Back to Z4 from F-Type

I had a 2021 M40i but had my head turned by a 2020 F-Type P450. Lovely car, but 6 months in I'm chopping it in for another M40i. I think the Jag looks and sounds better, but it's a heavy old beast and the B58 is unequivocally a better all-round engine, and more fun to drive. Also, the overall build quality of the Z4 is way better and the interior a nicer place to be. No questions I'll miss the throaty V8 and gorgeous (but ageing) looks of the Jag. This time its a 2023 Skyscraper Grey with all options. Looking forward to rejoining the G29 cold.
 
Welcome…I often muse about the F Type and wonder what if…a couple of my friends who were serial Z4 owners have gone across and not looked back…save the community aspects..
 
F-Type went today and much as I yearned for one for many years, I'm ambivalent about it's departure. Before committing to the G29 Z4 I had my head turned by a 718 Boxster GTS manual transmission so took it for a quick test drive. Looks great but boy how disappointing. Interior seems very dated, no comfort entry or start and the tech is woeful. No android auto on a 19 ref car? The 4 cylinder boxer engine is awful compared to the B58, just a bit rough really.
So I'm collecting the Z4 M40i in Skyscraper Grey on Friday, unless a reasonably priced Handschalter in Frozen Green miraculously appears in next 48 hours.
