Just finished the 1st 12hr night shift of the new year. After 2 weeks off that was hard work, still in holiday mode. I suppose it can only get easier???
 
well done. I think you have to do the whole week first before it gets any easier. I'm going back to my first 5 day week next week that doesn't include a festive team lunch or sneaky point on Fri lunch time. tough times ahead, hang in there though!
 
Forced myself to get up "early" :roll: today (8am) so the 6-15 get up tomorrow might be easier ? Just know it won't be though :cry:
3 weeks off will come to an abrupt end in the morning :thumbsdown:
 
No back to work for me , I'm retired......joined a gym and a swimming pool though ....I intend to be trim and slim by my birthday in May 8)

Went back on Thursday last week, more fool me. My advice - don't bother, it's not got any better :D

Back tomorrow, but tempted by your advice. So far this month I have to be in Dubai, Milan then Chandler followed by Vegas in the US. By the end of the month I won't know what year it is...
 
i'm retired as well, but i do recall last year around this time when i had to return to work.

i break out in a cold sweat just thinking about it.

Work?

Its something that has to be done before retirement!

Start saving to get out early if you can. :D
 
Flying out on the 9th to Japan to join my 37,000BHP 7 cylinder twin turbo B&W VLCC after almost 3 months at home with 3 on 3 off you almost forget work but it's looming large at the moment, could have retired at 65 but decided to give back some of my experience so the last year I have been training engine cadets on board, 8 at a time, new group joining with me in Yokaichi.
Will miss driving the zed but young minds to train makes your head hurt at times but worth it.
