Back in the Z after 5 months (and loving it!)

I drove the Z for the first time for 5 months today! :driving:

It has been SORN since December but with the draw of the potentially warmer (!) weather I realised it was time to tax and insure it for the summer months. Today was the first day I have woken up to blue skies for months, so today was the day!

Have to say it needed a little encouragement and wasn't the smoothest ride initially having been sat on my drive doing nothing for 5 months. However apart from the windows needing a reprogram (they wont close automatically when the roof comes up - which I'll do over lunch), everything else seems ok. The roof motor (touch wood) seems as strong as ever, brakes work well and don't rub or squeek and I'm sure the smoothness of the 6 cylinders will show itself after a few more miles.

It does though need a good clean, and freshen up inside as you could imagine after 5 months of being sat there doing nothing :o A few miles of topless driving should clear all the cobwebs and stale smell though!

I borrowed my neighbours charger to get life back in the battery last weekend in readiness, like I said it was a bit rough initially but it has settled down quite a bit on my way to work today.

Roof down, heated seats on. I have missed it! Feels a bit weird though, just like I have bought a new car, also I feel I am allowed to post again, rather than just lurking in the background watching the Z4 community having a laugh while I just watched. Wasn't much fun! Felt like I wasn't quite part of the gang I wanted to be in :(

Anyway, I'm back for the summer (at least), and will drive my precious 2.2 whenever the sun threatens to show itself!

Yup agreed; I actually managed a top-down drive into work today which is the only the second time in the few weeks I've had the car. Good times. 8)

welcome back.. nothing like getting the top down. :driving:

Only way to travel, top down the other morning driving to the airport once the ice had melted and the roof dried off.
Glorious driving across the A66 in the early morning sun.
Only problem is it'll be another 5 weeks till I can do it again.

I work a lot with other cars, and after driving a new Amarok for 5 hours, slipping back in the Z reminded me why I bought it
