Back in a z4 after a few years with a Audi TT and a3 convertible , just got this 2.0 sport in mineral white and cognac leather and comfort pack , a lot better drive than the e89 I had previously.

Previous owner changed front grill to Matt black and rollover hoops to black so chuffed with yet.

Looking to change the speaker’s as std hi-if isn’t the best looking at focal es100k has anyone else upgraded the speakers

Congratulations on the new car. It looks great. The front of sport actually looks quite good. The black grill, at least to my taste, looks much better than the default chrome grill.

About the hifi, I'm interested in upgrading mine as well, but I haven't had a time to look into the detail yet. My G31 has h/k sound system and I'm quite happy with that. I think as long as the z4 can get close to the H/K sound in the G31, I will be happy. I guess this is a pretty low requirement to the aftermarket sound system. :tumbleweed:

Congratulations..looks nice..are you going for a re-map?

Quite a few options on sound upgrades I’d imagine..

Out of interest what E89 did you have and what’s better on this baby?

hi b21 won't need a remap quite happy with performance , i have another bmw if i need speed a r1250rs :D

started out with z3 2.2 and 2.0 then had e85 2.5 and e86 2.5 then a e89 2.0 which felt sluggish and heavy, the g29 feels quicker than it probably is the seats are a massive improvement and is generally more refined .

Lovely looking car. I think I prefer the slightly less aggressive look of the Sport version, especially with those wheels. I’ve always liked Cognac too but BMW seem to be delisting it from other models in their range so you might have a very rare combo there!

I have almost the same as you, 2.0 Sport white with cognac, but with the technology pack.

The tech pack includes the Harman Kardon sound system, which sounds great to my ears.

My previous Z4 was an E89 2.0, I must agree that the G29 is much more refined all round

e86 2.5 is a rare beast. Perhaps it wasn’t firing on all cylinders

LOL, you almost matched my history. I first started with a 2000 Z3 (instead of Z4), and after 18 years bought a 2015 A3 Convertible. I didn't like the Turbo lag in that so I traded it in for a 2016 Audi TT Roadster, and finally went back to BMW with a 2021 Z4 M40i.

Another similar car change path to me. I still have the ‘17 plate A3 cab (don’t ask) and changed from a TT RS model to my first ever Beamer (Z4). People rave about the TTs virtual cockpit and I liked it a lot but the iDrive 7 is to me brilliant. Really clever but occasionally gets the prevailing speed limit wrong. I would have kept the TT and gone for a sport model Z4, but in the interests of domestic bliss had to chop in the TT instead of the A3. Might have been a different story if Audi and BMW had retained their cabriolet models in the A3/2 series. The 4 series cab is just too big for me.

I really did like the virtual cockpit in the TT and especially this shot. It was taken in the middle of Canyonlands NP and I don't know how I was getting phone service for Google Maps to show.

I’m another that thinks the Sport front end is well done and those 19” optional alloys are lovely, also love the interior :D

Markbo1 if we could have the tt cockpit in the z4 it would be the perfect car , bit disappointed with the digital cockpit in the z4 ,Sars the interior is the best for people with great taste :D here’s some more pics with winter boots on

Is that the same 17inch wheel from 5 series? I have those with winter wheel on my G31. I once tried it on the G29. Rear is okay but the front is on the limit with M sport brake. The wheel can be put on but the gap between the calliper and wheel drum is only about half cm.
