Back in a Z-Car

Hi Folks,

After quite a few years I'm back in a Zed. Previous cars have been a 1998 1.9l Z3 and a 2004 3.0l Z4.

I picked up a '59 plate E89 Z4 35i last weekend. I sold my 997 C2S earlier this year and was a bit worried that the Z4 wouldn't match my expectations performance wise. Initially i was a little disappointed but now that i'm getting to grips with the DCT and Sport mode the car is proving a worthy successor. It's never going to match the dynamics and power of the Porsche, but it's more than good enough for the road and my driving abilities.

I'm looking forward to getting involved with the forum again as it's been a while since i was last on here.

Here's the spec:

2009 '59 Z4 35i 7,000 miles
Deep Sea Blue
Ivory White Nappa leather
Pure White design package
sports seats
fine anthracite trim
Light alloy style 296 19" wheels
DCT
Extended storage (still doesn't seem like there's that much storage)
heated seats
front+rear PDC
Profession Navigation
ConnectDrive Assist and Online (no idea what this is)
Bluetooth phone prep+telematics

and here are some pics:

oh and here's my other toy. It's hard deciding which one to take out :D

and the boring daily driver. although i'm thinking about selling it as the Z4 is easier to use everyday than the 997 was. Actually I think there are a few people on here and the XDrivers forum.

thanks for looking.

Welcome back! Nice colour combo on the E89... and nice to see that you're already adhering to the strict zed parking guidelines - as far away from any other car as possible!

Love the E89 interior. That's the combination I will have if I decide to change the coupe,or a new Cayman!

That Zed looks lovely, so does the bike! I have the same dilemma!!!!

Very nice zed, as people have mentioned great colour combo.

Tis infact the exact colour/ alloys of one I very nearly went for before changing my mind back to the coupe, one of if not the best combination in my opinion.

thanks for the warm welcome. good to see a few bikers with the same dilemmna a me.

can't wait to get back to the uk to spend some time with the car. I sure hope the rain stops by the weekend.
