Had my back box removed on a whim this morning.

Exhaust centre cut it out and made custom pipes to replace and attached the original rear tails onto the ends.

£70 all in :D

It is louder but not as bad as people where making out. The rest of the system is standard but lots more crackles and pops on liftoff overrun around 3.5k rpm.

N52 denotes the naturally aspirated straight-6 petrol engine which was produced from 2005-2008 for the E85/E86 Z4 3.0si
Often called the facelift model - prior to this the Z4 used the M54 engine

Well both sources are right! :?

The N52 was fitted to the 130i and 330i in 2005, but not to the Z4 until the facelift.

N52 has a smoother / more refined note.

M54 has a rougher but deeper note.

After driving S54, you really appreciate how smooth the N52 is.
