Back behind the wheel againšŸŽ

Welcome back.

It'll be interesting to see how you get on with it after your E85.

Such a shame about 326 wheel issues as they look great!

We’ll after I have sorted the engine preventative maintenance out, I intend to put on non run flats all round. This with careful driving should reduce the risk. Yes there is still a risk but I really like them and will deal with them if they do crack. I will sort different wheels as I do not believe welding them will eliminate further cracking due to HAZ after welding.

I had 5 MKII Sciroccos back in my day but loved the MK3 even better. Different car, different times. But equally loved the smell and feel of the old MKII. :driving:

So today is the day. Excited is an understatement. I need to buy with my head not my heart. I love buying a new car but hate it too as I overthink all the worst that can happen. Once I see the car in person and have read everything, I will hopefully be happier. You can usually tell a lot about the car by the person. A bit like buying a horse ( a wise man once told me; when buying a horse look at the person not he horse)!

I will post pics if I buy it tonight. Either way I will be back as the hunt will go on, as had the royal nod from my better half. :D

Good to see you back . Also thought you'd like to know that the mac book has been both looked after and well used - brilliant bit of tech
Enjoy the new car.

Last we heard i think you were honeymooning perhaps ...Scotland...?.hope saga is car related and not about how the ring was dropped in the Loch!!??

So went to view the car. Much better than I thought it would be. Full M Sport spec with front and rear PDC. Power folding mirrors, Bluetooth and Aux/USB. Heated sport seats, adaptive head lights.

But best of all; full BMW service history with all paperwork and receipts. Tyres all good but will be getting replaced with non run flats. All four wheels like new with no marks. Got right under and can see no evidence of repairs or cracks.

All four corners just had new discs and pads all genuine.

Drove amazingly. No knocks squeaks just nice and firm but so smooth. Just want I was hoping for. Interior looks and feels like new. šŸ˜ŽšŸ‘

91,000 miles so not low but got it for Ā£8000 which I’m happy with.

Now the bad bit. The son 35 lives in London but the car is at his dads. I checked current and previous addresses. The lates V5 is at his flat in London and the son is in France. So until he can get me the document reference we can not complete the log book. He taxed it so can be driven but had to leave it there until he gets back. Gutted but now looking forward to Sunday nextšŸ˜

Not the end of the world and others no doubt having a much worse day than mešŸ™„

A nice surprise when the car turns out to be better than you expected.

It sounds like you've got a good deal too - hopefully that makes waiting a week less painful!

Cheers Mr Tidy. It makes the wait all the better. It’s my anniversary and retirement present so it’s my keeper. First job timing chain. I would love to do it myself but time and no current garage rules it out. I’m taking it to a BMW specialist in Tattenhall. I will do anything else. Full service as I don’t trust main dealers. Plus I get to know the car. Can’t wait 😁

Congratulations on both then.

I used part of an early workplace pension lump sum when I was 55 to help fund my first Z4. Then talked myself into getting my MC because I had moved into the next decade of life earlier that year so I thought if I was going to get one I'd better get on with it!

No amount of money can buy a person 1 second of time. We are not here long if it’s not hurting anyone and it’s reasonable then do itšŸ˜ŽšŸ‘

And she is home :D

Absolutely made up.
