So after regretting selling my Z4 last year I’m coming back.

I’m not a newbie but thought it polite to introduce myself again. I’ve had two Z3s and one E85 2.5 Sport.

This time tomorrow I’ll be back in an 2012 E89 2.0 M Sport. I’ve read all about the N20 TC issue so will inspect on arrival. Then I will get it replaced anyway for piece of mind.

Hoping to contribute once again on this forum.

I’ll post pictures once I have it. :driving:

Welcome back for another orbit..

Will be interesting to see how you enjoy E89 ownership..

Well I do like to tinker and do almost all my own work. I will not be doing the timing chain and oil pump chain update myself though. By the time I’ve purchased all the special locking tools it’s not cost effective.

Looking forward to driving a car I (hopefully) enjoy again. Missed the wind.

No I haven’t. I’m aware they are two different breads. I will find out tomorrow if I like it or not. 🙄

As someone fortunate enough to have both on the drive I would suggest you don't try to compare.
They are two different cars, designed for different things (in my opinion anyway)
My remapped 20iS gets close to the same fun but not quite there, and definitely not that same soundtrack.
Enjoy the E89 for what it is. If you are not constantly thinking how your E85 would have been in the same situation then you will find the E89 a great car in its own right.

Thats exactly my thoughts. I will enjoy it for what it is. Wanting something a little more compliant as I’m planning to use it for weekend getaways with my wife. Don’t need a big boot as we travel light😎👍

We can get enough for a week away in the boot and still put the roof down.
If we are going away for a few days, for a decent distance, then it's the E89.
If I finish work and we fancy an evening blast to a pub then it's Vall's E85 every time!

TC issue ? What's this you speak of ? :?
The early model N20 engine suffers from timing chain issues. Not all but more than there should be.

To be honest I’ve reached a point in my life where I’m not going to worry about things I can not control. I will take precautions, but I can not let things stop me living a full life through fear of what might happen. Just going to enjoy it(hopefully)🤣😎

Thought you had been quiet . Welcome back . May see you about as your`re not that far from me

Cheers guys. It’s a white 20i M Sport with the famous 19 inch 326 cracking alloys😂🤣😂

This is the one. Full history and very well looked after with all documentation. Just need to see it now and verify everything. All recalls done and confirmed with BMW 🙏
