Baby seats in a Z??

Now we are completely out of touch concerning babies/young children in cars, back in our day our son was placed in a carrycot on the back seat of the car and that was it but I know things have changed considerably since then.
He's now 28 and just told us we are going to be grandparents.

What I can make out is that I wont be able to put a baby seat in the Z because I can't turn the airbag off. Also as the child gets older could I still put a forward facing seat in even though I don't have iso (???) fixings in. Is the seat belt enough to hold a seat in??
As I only work a few hours a week (my choice I'm bone  ) I know I will be asked on occasions to have the child, so will it be Shanks's Pony for me?

Can any of you young un's enlighten me?

Congratulations ! And correct. Rear facing seat = No. Forward = yes. Plenty of seatbelt, my son rides in my Zed several times a week. Just remember seat needs to go as far back and far down as it will go.

Wrap it in a duvet and put it in the boot?
More seriously, yes a forward facing seat is fine as I carted my nephew around like this for a couple of years, he loved it! Refuses to get out nowadays until we've been around the block a few times, little angel knows I love driving!

I got a recaro baby seat boy is 3 and half now fitted in the zed sweet last weekend (Iv had this seat now since he was 6 months old and it has form that can be taken out for when they grow :) He now calls it the batman car hehe
Its forward facing and will last till hes 5ish i bet
Congrats by the way as well :]

Rear facing seat = not unless you have airbag off. Once they start facing forward though (6mth+ ish), forward facing with seat back as far as it will go. Seatbelt type installation fine if you don't have Isofix.
