Baby on the way...

Britax Duo fits nicely in the seat. I have isofix to secure it but i have fitted it with the belts and its perfectly secure.

That is a forward facing seat, so its not good to you for a year or so. Obviously its illegal to fit a rear facing seat unless you can turn off the airbag.

Thanks Lower. Do you have any pics of it in situ? Am guessing if I wanted to have rear facing I could get the dealer or an indy to deactivate the passenger side airbags (side and front?).

I did LOADS of research and try outs whilst my other half was pregnant and I ended up with a mama and papa unit (will update when I remember what model it was) one I bought is nice and slim I never used it in my zed as I coyldnt turn off the airbags and didn't wanna risk anything, but the seats in my vxr corsa are even more bolstered / deep than the msport seats, and fit very nicely. The base is isofix AND seatbelt compatible. I really would recommend it as it is very well made, and and very easy to move from car to car as well. Fitting and removing the seat from the base is simple too; very important when you don't want to disturb sleeping baby. My little boy has just outgrown this in the last couple months. It's suitable from birth to approx 9/12 month. base cost approx 130 quid and the seat about 110. The seat forms part of a travel system ie, pushchair chasis, car seat and stroller that's all interchangeable. This seat is compatible with a couple different chasis'. I'll take photos of the base in situ soon and upload asap.

its a Cybex seat and base.

sorry for poor pics, just nipped in the garage and fitted it in the dark can do others in the daylight if need be, but im sure you get the idea.....

Congratulations! If you get desparate we may have to swap for a year! (only a 3.0 but has isofix & airbag deactivate)

Update on situation. Just went to look at the Golf. Guys wants £1100 for it so looks good to go as a second car for the impending arrival. Match that to one of the great Z child seats when baby gets a little bit bigger and It looks at the moment like a perfect solution.

Moral of the story is, there's always an opportunity to increase the fleet!

Congrats inkey$ :D 8)

Thanks again Imp  Really appreciate the effort. Looks like a very solid setup.

This is great Imp - not just taking photos, but doing it in the dark, and in the Z, not your Corsa. Fantastic

Thanks man  Yeah, Imp made some serious effort to get those pics. Credit to the forum. :D

Picked up the latest addition to the fleet today. 1.6SE auto, 28k on a Y plate. Few niggly issues to get sorted. Remote central locking not working. Needs new OS wing mirror. Emissions light on (but no emission issues) and could do with couple new tyres but not bad for £1100 sterlings :)

Don't know a great deal about these cars but looking forward to learning.

You can use vag.com to reset all lights etc. paid a tender for it.

I'll check it out. Seller did say he'd got them to reset it but it came back on again shortly after. Understand there are a few sensors connected to this so may be a tep sensor or something playing up.

Also getting used to having to turn the ignition within 30secs from unlock or you get full pelt alarm! Bargain of the year though and he even filled the tank for me.

May investigate stiffer suspension though. The ///M has be used to a less wallowy ride :D
