now this I'm going to like!

what a load of cack. the concept at jaguar must have been discussed like this......

"i have an idea, due to the fact we cannot come up with anything new these days due to lack of imagination (as everything we do looks like an aston rip-off), and due to the whole recession, lets take a car we already have thats purchased by golfers, and shorten the wheelbase to make it appeal to the younger generation!.......then we can re-badge it and pass it off as a new model without anybody actually noticing !......

Agree - a combination of Aston and MG styling. Certainly won't be part of any consideration if I change.

Agree. Looks a bit of a bitsa with dated bits ontop! Not sure! Will wait to see production model. E89 looks waaaay sexier than that!

Oh!

Given the current range of Jags I personally think the finished article will look rather good

Not exactly edgey is it. the 'i want' factor is a touch low. The biggest suprise is the fabric roof really.

I quite like it actually.

The rag top is a little surprising as most are moving to folding tin tops but it'd probably mean they loose too much boot space which would break the golden rule of being able to fit two sets of golf clubs in the boot. plus it is probably cheaper so keeping the price point closer to what the masses can afford.

Nothing wrong with having hints of Aston or current jag styling as quite frankly jag and aston have got it right!

They could have done something a little more with the light clusters though

Well yet again I find myself going against the grain, I really like the look of that, but then I think the current Jaguar range blows the current offerings from BMW out of the water from a styling point view. The fact it ressembles an Aston is not a problem in my eyes.
I'm also glad to see a fabric roof, there is a market out there for people for people who want to put the roof down and still be able to get more than a pack of sandwiches in the back, I have yet to see a car with a metal folding roof that I would part with money for.

In production trim it will probably look fairly tasty. Suspect the suspension will be wallowy and floaty as most sporty Jags seem to be.

I could never own one as you'd always look like an Aston owner wannabe
